Daddy Project!

We had lots of FUN this summer enjoying Snowcones with our new Snowcone maker. The girls favorite part was eating them out of fun cones. Doodles and Bugs got an AWESOME idea and wanted Dad to make the cones into Princess hats for their Dolls. I found the ribbon and Dad helped them make the hats!
Didn't he do a GREAT JOB???
He sure is the BEST DAD EVER!

Red/Green light!

I love to do simple fun activites with my kids. The other day we were bored and Doodles had stayed home sick. We were all feeling a little better in the afternoon. I asked them if they wanted to play RED light GREEN light. AND of course they shouted YES! SO, I asked Doodle if she had any ideas of what we could do to make the game fun. Here is what she came up with:

You take two peices of paper and draw a circle on each paper and then cut out both circles. Color one Circle RED and the other circle GREEN.

Then get two un-sharpened Pencils and tape them on the back so you can use them for sticks.

Sit at the opposite end of the room and hold the two signs. Hold RED up to stop and GREEN to go!

Its even fun to play if you have a car to drive in while your little sister is riding on the top and have your Mom hold the signs!

Toilette Paper Rolls!

There are several uses for toiletter paper rolls.
The other night we were bored and I decided to try something different. I told the girls " lets go outside and play" I grabbed my camera and a few toilette paper rolls, (that I may have found in the garbage can while contiplating in a certain room on the throne in the only place a mom can get away , what I should do with Doodles and Bugs to help them not be bored!)

SO, outside we went. I gave a tube to each girl and let them use it to play eye spy and look around outside and discover some things. they also went down the slide while holding it. Ok, So that I idea only worked to entertain them for a few min. before I knew it they were chucking them back at me and saying they were done. Well, they decided to keep playing on the swing set, So I put a tube on the end  of my camera lens and started having fun taking some pictures!

I think they turnend out pretty cute, AND I didnt have to do much cropping to the pictures!

Popcorn Popping on the........

One of Our favorite Primary Hyms is: "I looked out the window" it goes like this:
I looked out the window and what did I see, Popcorn popping on the Apricot Tree. Spring has brought me such a nice suprise Blossoms popping right before my eyes. I can take an arm full and make a treat, a popcorn ball that would smell so sweet, it wasnt really so, but it seemend to be, Popcorn popping on the Apricot Tree.

We have been siging this song alot in our home the past couple of weeks. As well as when we are in town and we spot all the Tree's that are in bloom. Our girls love the trees that have the pink blooms, and they always say Yum.....Look at that Pink Popcorn.

So , here is a Fun project I did with them:

1. Get the Air Popcorn popper out! My oldest daughter, Doodle said " Oh mom can we pop the Popcorn with the popcorn machine, instead of doing it in the microwave" I loved how excited they got while watching the corn pop! Of course they had to have their dress ups on !

2. I traced their Hand and arm on colored paper, then I glued it onto heavy cardstock and added green paper by using the ripping method, so it would look like grass. Get your Elemers washable school glue out and add dots of glue anywhere you would like on your tree branches!
3. Enjoy and display your own "PopCorn Popping"
Doodles is the one on the far right, I loved how she just wanted to add one kernel to each one of the fingers. Bugs is in the middle and she wanted to add it all over. Mine is on the far left and I had lots of help from Bugs and she wanted to add one to the Trunk of my tree!

Painting with I-C-E

I found this awesome ice trays at the $1 store and it was perfect for this project. I also found these mini sticks that were just right.
So, this is what ya do:
Its super simple:
1. Fill the ice tray full of water.
2. Then get out the liquid food coloring and put drops in each little square. I was running low on food coloring , so we only had 3 colors to choose from.
3. Next, gently put your ice tray in the freezer. Let them sit for about 30 min. and then insert the sticks.
4. Pull them out the next day and they are ready to use for painting!

Pinecone Bird Feeders

After the Holidays were over Doodle and Bugs were getting bored, so I busted out this project I have been meaning to do for some time now!
Here is what we used: a jar of Peanut Butter, Bird Seed, some BIG Pine cones that we brought home from Lake Tahoe, a plastic knife and some string!

First we smothered the Pine cone with Peanut Butter with a plastic knife, making sure we got it into the center as well! then I tied some jute around it. The reason for the jute, was to hang it and also to hold onto it, while I put the Pine Cone in the bag of Bird seed. Then I didnt have to get all messy! once we were done their Dad took them outside and they got to choose that perfect spot to hang it!
Now both girls enjoy looking out the window each day to see birds eating, and the Birds are happy!

 Doodle's Turkey
Momma's Turkey

Like these Turkey's??? They are Kindof different , BUT fun!

A few years back, Doodle, Hubby and I made these for Family night! We took colored paper and traced our hands and then cut them out to be used for the Feathers and wrote the things that we were thankful for. We traced 2 different sized bowls for the Body and the head, used a candy corn for the nose and a small peice of Licorice for the waddle. Then we drew some feet on brown paper and glued them on! It was a fun Project and I loved how each Turkey Turned out different!

ThankFul For....................

Here is our ThankFul Project my family has been working on. Each day , (if we remeber) we write on a leaf what we are Thankful for and then tape it on the tree. Its been really fun so far and then kids really look forward to taping their leaf on the tree.

It was Super Duper easy to make. I just cut branches out of card stock and taped them on the wall with clear tape, then used the cricket to cut some letters out and taped them on the wall. Here is where I got the fun templates for the leaves: http://kids.creativity-portal.com/d/projects/autumn/fall-leaf-cutout-templates2.shtml

I love the things that Doodle and Bug like to right down, especially when Dad asked Bug the other night what she was Thankful for, now Remeber she is only 22 months and she said "BackPack", so thats what went on her leaf! It was also very funny when Doodle was mad the other night and made her own leaf and wrote       " Iam not Thankful for dinner" Becuase she did not like what I made! It was super funny and we got a good kick out of it!
Hope you all are enjoying Novemeber as much as Iam. Only 2 weeks until we get to be a Grandma and Grandpas for ThanksGiving!
