Fall Decor

Here's "The Shelf" decorated for Fall/ Halloween!

So glad I finally had time to get it up! I ABSOLUTLY LOVE FALL and all the colors and the feeling that comes with it! I love the changing of the leaves and the sound of them crunching when walking on them, the pumpkins, all the desert weeds changing to fall colors( Yes, I will admitt even the desert can be pretty in the fall) Trick or treating, Apple pie and just the thought that its kidof the begining of the Holiday season!

Here's what it looks like from the front veiw, with a few ADDITONS( toys) from my cute little decoraters the "Doodlebugs" The shelf below gets things moved every so often because they like to look, re-aragnge and play :)

I decided to put some fake apples in a canning jar and this was fun new look!
I cut these off of a garland I bought at the D.I. a few years back.

My cute fall owl from Little Pokadot

Just wanted to show how to decorate with textures of adding fabric with shinny things!

My fun new sign I made at Super saturday, AND I know it has nothing to do with fall, but the Ribbon is fall colors, SO I mixed it in!

I made these "EEK" letters a month ago or so. I modge Podged Fabric on the letters and then used scraps of fabric and tied them around and knotted them! It was a fun, new simple project!

Here's My new Halloween Wreath!

Once again I hit up the $1 Store and found some fun things! I bought 2 black Boa's, these awesome Traintulas, a fun Halloween sign and A devil spear thingy! All I did was glue the Boa on a wreath form I already had THEN I wired the spiders on, used ribbon to attatch the Sign and wired on the devil spear. Then I hung it with some Orange ribbon!

Here's a close up of those awesome Spiders!

So, ever since we got our Flat screen 10 months ago I have had a hard time deciding what to do on the wall behind it. I have been debating on ordering one of those awesome vinyl lettering things that would cover up lots of space, BUT havent done it, AND I dont know how the landlord would feel about that, HE just wouldnt understand that it Just peels right off! SO, this is what I did for fall, I dont think it turned out too bad, and it Kindof gives me an idea of what to do for Christmas Decor!

SO, for anyone out there who has a Flat Screen attatched to the wall  What have you done around or behind it???????????????????

Halloween Decor Ideas!

Pumpkins I made out just covering rolls of Toillette paper and Paper towels with Fabric, Making a Stem with Brown Cardstock and adding some Raffia!
This is how I decorted "The Shelf" last year. I just wanted to show how you can decorate using different things like a broom and a witch costume hat and a green jar for color!
I bought this huge frame at the thrift store for $4, it was ugly gold and I took a can of Black spray spray paint to it! I loved how big it was!
Here I just used the spider webbing and spreaded it across this fun little wire frame, hung a few little decorations and then stuck some fall leaves in the webbing and they stayed there really good!
I bought this fun Plate at a thrift store for $1
Here was our first attempt at using the webbing across the room and the ceiling. It was messy, and a pain to hang, but it was fun! My hubby said he doesnt ever want to do it again, BUT Iam sure it wont take much begging for his help if I needed it!
A fun yard decoration!

This is what I like to do when I want to Decorate on a Budget:

1. Go hit up all the Thrift Stores
2. Go to the $1 Store
3. Use some things around the house, Halloween costumes, Dress-ups, Fun Halloween Dishes or plates, Tree Branches etc.
4. And Lastly , go Hit up Walmart, or Target and get a few New things for the Holiday!

Here's to inspiring you all to get out those Halloween Decorations and
have some fun, NOW Iam off to get mine out for this year! :)

Recipe Card Holder

A Simple Recipe Card Holder that I made!
Items needed: 2x2 block or your, Hand saw, Modge Podge, Cute paper and Riibon,Sand Paper and a Paint Brush!

I took the 2x2 block and sawed and thin line on the top just wide enough for a recipe card to fir into. I sawed it at an angle so when I went to put the card in there it would sit at and angle so I can read it better! Then I modge Podged the scrapbooking paper on. For the top I went through the line again after I added the paper so that the paper would not dry over it!  I also went along all the edges and used sandpaper the distress the edges!

Added a cute rub on embellishment and some ribbon!
A nice little card holder that doesnt take up much space!

I came up with this for a craft to do at Releif soc. the other night. We made them after we sampled many delicious recipes that the sisters brought! It was fun to see how everyone decorated them!

I also think I am going to be WHIPPING some more of these up REAL SOON to use as PHOTO HOLDERS!

Spring/Summer Flower Arrangment

Step 1: I saved a can from the vegies Iopened the other day and dried it out. Then I put some dry floral foam to go inside the can and just pressed it in there.
2. Grabbed the Allenes Tacky glue and the paper shreds

3. Put the Allene's glue on top of the floral foam and then put the green paper shred on top. It hardly took much of the shred to cover the foam!
4. Here's what the can should look like after you get the shreds glued on!

And here is a VERY SIMPLE SPRING ARRANGMENT!I debated weather using cute paper around the can, but decided I liked the look with just a little bit of tulle tied around it!

I bought these cute flowers at the Hobby lobby ( for 1.69 each)while I was in Logan, Ut Last weekend and I knew they would make a simple spring/Summer Decoration!

This project seriously took me like 5 min. Max, so cute and so inexpensive $6 total!
